Lark Doley
Past International President, Toastmasters International, Distinguished Toastmaster
A member of Toastmasters since 1990, Distinguished Toastmaster Lark Doley served as the 2018-19 Toastmasters International President.
In her professional life, Lark has worked as a Marketing Manager for Texas Instruments, owned a successful manufacturing business called Second Wave, Inc., and managed the training department for the Texas Project Enrollment Broker Project of Maximus, Inc. until her retirement in March 2021. Lark has a bachelor’s degree from Trinity University.
Lark has held a number of high-profile leadership positions within Toastmasters and has attained the Distinguished Toastmaster designation. Lark says, “Toastmasters is an organization that empowers its members to develop self-confidence through improved communication and leadership skills. During the pandemic, the mission of our organization became even more valuable, as we supported our global membership with online meetings that promoted enrichment and encouragement.”
As an officer of the Toastmasters International Board of Directors from 2015-2020, Doley was a “working ambassador” for the organization. She worked with the Board to develop, support, and modify the strategies and policies that guide Toastmasters International in fulfilling its mission.
Lark often wears Golden attire at Toastmaster events to signify the Golden benefits developed through membership in Toastmasters without paying the price of Gold to receive them.
Lark resides in a lighthouse home on Lake Travis near Austin, Texas, USA, that her late husband Roger built in honor of her late father-in-law Arthur. Lark is a member of three Toastmasters clubs, including her home club in Pflugerville, Texas, the Arthur Storer club that was chartered in honor of her father-in-law after his death in 1997.
