Holiday Party & Year-End Celebration!
WOVI-North Dallas invites all chapters to attend our year-end celebration. It will be a great chance to mingle with awesome WOVI women. We have a full evening planned for you with good food, magnificent ambiance, great fun, and an extraordinary silent auction.

Here's what you need to do:

- Arrive between 6 and 6:30 to register and mingle
- Come hungry for our meal and dessert catered by Blue Mesa Grill
- If you wish, bring a gift (value up to $10) for a gift exchange
- Bring your checkbook or credit card to shop our Silent Auction
Not only is it a time for celebration but a time to follow our mission to "provide mentoring and leadership." Financial support is one of the best...and easiest...and fun ways to benefit our organization. Proceeds from the silent auction help to grow and maintain WOVI, Inc., but this year a portion of the proceeds will go towards benefitting a family in need. Contact Janet Wilemon (jlwilemon@sbcglobal.net) if you would like to donate and we will arrange for pickup, if necessary. It's also a great time to finalize your year-end nonprofit contributions with a donation to WOVI!
Oh yes, one more thing-bring a friend or two! It will be a great event for potential members!

Dates for 2010 Annual Conference Announced
Even though the stardust is still floating around from the 2009 Conference, it's not too early to mark your calendars for the 2010 Annual Conference for Women, Mentor Recognition Luncheon and Leadership Summit where stars will shine! The dates are set for October 15 and 16, 2010. The theme of the conference follows the 2010 theme: WOVI: Where Stars Shine! Create! Innovate! Act!
The location of the 2009 conference received such rave reviews that WOVI, Inc. has already booked the Hilton Garden Inn Richardson/Dallas for 2010.
You know the date. You know the location. You know the theme. More information will follow.
For those of you who expressed interest in "being a part of making the 2010 Conference a huge success" your intent is truly appreciated and duly noted. You will be hearing from us.

WOVI 2010 Theme Announced at Leadership Summit
WOVI: Where Stars Shine! Create! Innovate! Act!
The theme for 2010 was formally announced and kicked off at the Leadership Summit on Friday, October 9. The theme honors WOVI members and their potential as empowered women and leaders.
WOVI Inc. First Vice President Lynda Rhodes and WOVI Inc. Vice President Elizabeth Gustwick ceremoniously installed the chapter officers for 2010 during the Awards Luncheon on Saturday, October 10. Each Chapter was presented a three star trophy as a symbol of the theme and to use during monthly meetings to honor and celebrate the accomplishments of individuals.
To further instill the theme, all members were given the red carpet treatment in an exercise during the Conference's closing ceremonies. Amid cheers of encouragement and floating bubbles each participant experienced a walk on the red carpet - another WOVI way honoring members through the use of the annual theme.
All chapters are encouraged to incorporate the annual theme in their programs, monthly meetings and publicity throughout 2010.

The 2009 Mentors of the Year Award Recipients were honored at the 8th Annual Mentor Recognition Luncheon on October 9, 2009.
Recipients of this prestigious recognition are Mentor of the Year -Bette Buschow--Executive Director, Resolana; Corporate Mentor of the Year - Jarilyn Fox, President and Publisher, Business News Group; NonProfit Mentor of the Year -Ms. Rosa Arroyo, SER-SCSEP Site Coordinator, SER Jobs for Progress National, Inc., Community Mentor of the Year - Dr. Marsha Gathron, (posthumously).
WOVI Member Mentors of the Year are Kim Andrews, President WOVI Frisco and Liz Patel, First VP, WOVI Frisco.
WOVI proudly honors these special women
for their outstanding mentoring and contribution to women.

Interest Rings
In addition to monthly meetings, WOVI has developed common interest groups led by members for those desiring help and enlightenment in specific areas. The regularly scheduled subgroups, called InterestRings highlight a multitude of interests, concerns or pursuits.
The ArtistRing meets the second Wednesday at LaMadeleine's on Belt Line in Addison facilitated by Lynda Rhodes. Contact her at lkrhodes@aol.com.
The morning EmpoweRing meets the first Monday of each month at 8:30 AM LaMadeleine's on Campbell east of Coit in Richardson facilitated by Holli Terry. Contact her at Holli.Terry@rbcdain.com.

The WritersRing meets 6:30 PM on the first Tuesday each month at 801 East Campbell Road, Suite 152, in Richardson facilitated by Kim Andrews. Contact her at kimandrews972@sbcglobal.net.
The ImageRing meets the fourth Thursday of each month at Noon at Astoria Caffe, 15701 Quorum Drive in Addison. This Interest Ring explores the impact image has on what we do and how we feel. Liz Patel is the facilitator and can be contacted at 972.239.5853.
The SpeakersRing kicks off again in August. This initial meeting will be held on the first Monday in August, the 3rd, at 10:00 AM (after the morning EmpoweRing) at LaMadeleine's at Coit and Campbell in Richardson.
