Jana Bommersbach is one of Arizona's most acclaimed and respected journalists. Jana is a communications expert who has won accolades in every phase of her career, as a reporter, correspondent, broadcaster, author and speaker. The Arizona Press Club has recognized her lifetime of achievement with its highest honor, the Distinguished Service Award. She has been twice-named Arizona Journalist of the Year and has been recognized as the nation's top city-magazine columnist. She has been the recipient of myriad other awards as well, including the Humanitarian Award, Media Person of the Year, Women Who Care, Silver Gavel, and Cherish the Children Awards. She has also received the Presidential Award for Media Excellence, Toastmaster International's Communication and Leadership Award, Arizona’s Journalist of the Year, and even a Regional Emmy. In 2005, Jana was inducted as an inaugural honoree into the Arizona Music and Entertainment Hall of Fame.

Jana’s diverse career spans more than 30 years of accomplishments. Her public speaking is both riveting and inspiring, as she draws the audience into the exciting worlds of a great storyteller and an investigative reporter. She prods the audience members to find their own conclusions based on her investigations and unique perspectives.

Please join us for Jana Bommersbach’s not-to-be-missed presentation.

On January 25, Jana will be speaking to WOVI Phoenix about strong, empowered women. Her presentation is "Strong Women I Have Known and Why You're Going to Love Them." She weaves her speech around the subject matter contained in her two books, which are entitled The Trunk Murderess: Wine Ruth Judd and Bones in the Desert. Bones tells the story of Loretta Bowersock, the mother of Arizona's Domestic Diva Terri, of Terri's Design and Consign. This is the tale of a beautiful, successful woman who ended up being murdered and secretly buried in the desert. Jana believes this story is a "classic case of elder abuse" and feels that Loretta’s hidden life and tragic death hold lessons for everyone. She will share this insight with all of us during the January WOVI meeting.
