September 2010 |
How exactly do books come to life? Perhaps, like some of our members, you are already writing a book. Or, like others, you would like more insight into the creative process behind books. On Thursday, September 16th, come participate in our Authors' Panel, moderated by MIchelle Prince and featuring three published writers from diverse genres. We will also be voting on our 2010-2011 slate of officers.
The meeting will be held at the Crowne Plaza Suites, Dallas-Park Central on September 16th. Registration begins at 5:45 pm, Relationship Building starts at 6:00 and Dinner will be served at 6:30 pm. Prior to the meeting, we will hold a New Member Orientation at 5:15 pm. All new members, potential members, and members who would like a refresher are encouraged to attend and asked to include in the RSVP that you would like to attend orientation.
Please RSVP by Monday, September 13th via email, WOVINorthDallas@gmail.com. Please let us know if you have any special dietary restrictions at the time you RSVP. The hotel MUST have this information in advance in order to accommodate our requests. If you need to cancel, we ask that you do so before September 13th.

Sincerely,

September 16th- Featured Program
Authors' Panel
Michelle Prince will facilitate a panel discussion of three published authors, as the writers take questions from the floor and delve into the creative process, the publishing process, and more (it's our job to fill in what "more" actually refers to through our excellent questions!). With the experience these authors have, this spirited dialogue will be a program sure to inspire action, provoke thought and provide insight.
Deborah Avrin, Panelist. Deborah is a human resources executive and leading consultant, bringing over 18 years of insights to the table. She authored The Management Map: Navigation Tools for the New Manager. She will also share her insider publishing tips and shortcuts with us.
Victoria Chancellor, Panelist. Victoria has published 18 novels, including the Brody's Crossing series. As an interesting side note, Victoria transitioned from an analyst at EDS to full time author after her first two novels were published, so it will also be interesting to hear the story of her migration from corporate life to prolific author.
Debbie Mrazek, Panelist. Debbie loves Sales. She has helped companies all over the world ignite their selling teams. She has written 13 books, including The Field Guide to Sales: The All Weather, All Terrain Guide to Selling.
Michelle Prince, Facilitator. Michelle leads a publishing company, as well as a consulting firm. She hosts a weekly radio show and the best-selling author of Winning in Life Now...How to Break Through to a Happier You. Through these mediums, she reaches millions of people who want to break through to a life of greatness.
Please join us on September 16th for this unique opportunity.
Registration begins at 5:45 PM and dinner will be served at 6:30 PM. Please RSVP by September 13th via email, WOVINorthDallas@gmail.com. Please let us know if you have any special dietary restrictions at the time you RSVP. |

First Vice President--Caroline Homan
Second Vice President--Laura Burford

3 Ways to Market Your Business at WOVI
Want to highlight your business at a WOVI Meeting? Sponsor a Meeting! Your company will be highlighted in our Monthly Newsletter, printed on the front of our Monthly Meeting Program, will receive a special introduction at the meeting, and will receive a display table at the meeting. The cost for this is $95, with a possibility of a tax deduction (check with your tax advisor). Please sign up in advance either on the form which can be found at the Monthly Meeting or by emailing dwong@tsctexas.com.
Want to promote your business? Donate a door prize! What better way to let your WOVI friends know what you do AND show your generosity? Actually, anyone is welcome to bring a door prize. It's just as fun to give as it is to receive.
All members are encouraged to bring some literature to display at the Member-to-Member Table, located at the back of the room at every meeting. This is another great way for members to promote their businesses. And the more we know about what you do, the more we can promote your business too!
